Frequently Asked Questions
Everyone needs a coach. Even coaches need a coach. Yes, it is true! No one can get better at the game -- whatever he game is -- without a coach. Have you ever heard of the term..."You don't know what you don't know." It is so true in life. Don't you wish you had someone along the way encouraging you to uncover some blindspots that have been holding you back from a breakthru? I work with people very holistically: healthy bodies, healthy mindsets. We work to move you to your next level of success and beyond. A coach is not a manager, however. You must do the work, I can guide you, but the results will come from your engagement and you ultmately being coachable. So you must ask yourself some questions:
01
Am I Coachable?

Being "coachable" means you come to the table committed to putting all of your excuses aside, you take action for your success on ideals that make you uncomfortable. Learning and executing the right kind of action, overcoming will move you to the next level of success. If you are ready to address your results today and to do the work to make your desired results happen for yourself, it may be time to begin with a coach.
02
What should I expect from my Coach?

Your coach is NOT a babysitter. A coach is there to work with people committed, let me say that again, committed to growing in their area of chosen expertise. Your coach will listen to you, your heart, what is holding you back and uncover with you for conscious awareness breakthru's. Uncovering blindspots is a biggie, and blazing through to success is the goal. However, as one client put it, "Once we uncovered this blindspot, I was conciously aware, but for a while my behavior was like a moth to a flame. I watched myself go right into the same behavior. Crowding out is difficult, and took time. I am better because of it. I appreciated Emily's kind approach to helping me uncover and address this distraction in my life. I am now addressing how I handle this to not be so distracted, which ultimately took me off of accomplishing my goals."

How do I breakthru?
THIS is a BIGGIE!!! Get aware here and the world is your oyster! If you are making an excuse about ANYTHING, your weight, what you choose to eat, why your practice has lackluster business growth or results, why your business is failing (like the economy), why certain people won't talk to you, return your calls, your relationships with family, friends, business associates -- likely you have a blindspot you are not willing or aware that you need to address. Whatever excuses you are making...there in lies a blindspot - and the lie you have been telling yourself. Take advice and listen to someone who is where you want to be. Never, ever take advice from someone more messed up than you. If someone is not where you want to be, nor do they have the experience, why would you listen to them? That actually could be an issue of where you are today -- because you may be listening to the wrong people. Sad, but many times true.
04
How do I uncover my blindspots?

Have you ever listened to yourself? Truly listened to yourself...yes...listened to yourself talk, what your self-talk is -- for example, what is running through your mind. Everytime you talk to yourself or to someone, you are running your neurological pathways. Yes, the roads that are common to you in your brain. It's like a map of your local area. Well worn and you know it well...If I do this, then this result occurs...it is your experiences over time that create these pathways, your environment, what has happened in your past to get you to the thought processes today. Listen to all of this -- you can uncover your blindspots -- yes YOU can!
05
I don't know how to do all of this for myself...

It is not easy to do this for ourselves, because we are with ourselves all of the time -- that whole "wherever you go there you are" theme. We can't gain perspective when our own perspective is the only one we have. Interesting, isn't it?? That is why you hear all the time -- leaders are readers and earner are learners...you must be willing to invest in yourself, read personal development books, change what you listen to on the radio - get intentional. Choose a coach to help you uncover the blindspots and help you have conversations leading you in the RIGHT direction of success -- so you can move quickly to your results you desire. We need someone to help us uncover the pathways we've created and help us to learn and see a different map. You hear all the time -- "Mindset"-- "It's your mindset, it's your mindset, change your mindet" -- yes..well what does that mean?? ...well, it is your mindset. Whatever setting you have your mind on -- whatever channel you are tuned into will give you the results you are currently living out. Most of us are living a limited life with limited results.. You must be willing to lift your leadership lid for increased results. If you don't bet on the farm -- yourself, your personal development, then how do you expect to grow into the success story you desire? You must hang around people who have what you desire -- be a sponge -- learn from them -- listen and put ideas into action...it takes time to make changes, but they are well worth it to change some of the lies and life experiences that frankly aren't true. Look at your current circle of influence....what can you learn from them -- if the answer is "nothing" than it is time to move on and make new friends. Have you ever heard the idea: "If you are the smartest in the room, it is time to find a new room?" What are you making excuses about? It's time to get clear once an for all. Invest in yourself to get the perspective and the skills you need to take the next steps in designing your life. You have one shot! It's time to play full out, don't you agree?
